12-26 October, the High Fashion Low Countries exhibition is on display in MAD Brussels! The opening on October 12 is also part of the MODO parcours 2012 by MODO Brussels. Besides that, there’ll also be an ‘sustainability and innovation’ seminar on October 11 in Antwerp.

Since March 2012, my graduation collection is available for press purposes in collaboration with the Dutch Fashion Foundation. The collection is part of the So Dutch Fashion Showroom.

So Dutch Fashion is the PR-unit of the Dutch Fashion Foundation and focuses on the world-wide promotion of Dutch fashion. They present the collections of nine designers in our showroom in the World Fashion Centre and offer diverse PR activities for these designers.

You are always welcome to visit the showroom from Monday until Friday from 10:00hrs – 17:30hrs. It is not necessary to make an appointment.

So Dutch Fashion is located in the World Fashion Centre in Amsterdam.

Natalie de Koning x High Fashion Low Countries

Natalie de Koning was inspired by the idea of repurposing materials and by their ‘previous life’. She based her project on the household goods of someone who had died in the Ondiep district of Utrecht. Her fashion silhouettes were inspired by some of the old photos in the house. This resulted in classical designs made from the collection of old clothes, blankets, curtains, carpet, fake plants and old-fashioned sewing equipment she found in the house. In addition she used fair-trade silk and wool, colouring them with natural dyes such as madder and acacia catechu, with the help of the only dyeing mill still in existence in The Netherlands.
